The Blue Ventures Learning Hub is a guided platform for BV staff, partners, and coastal fishing communities to access learning modules, training materials, and data tools โ all designed to scale community-led conservation.
Blue Ventures is a marine conservation organisation dedicated to putting people first. We support coastal fishers in remote and rural communities to rebuild fisheries, restore ocean life, and create sustainable paths to prosperity.
Originating in Madagascar two decades ago, our work has expanded globally. We partner with traditional fishers and community organisations across more than a dozen countries, including Indonesia, Timor-Leste, The Philippines, Kenya, Tanzania, Senegal, The Gambia, Capo Verde, Guinea-Bissau, Madagascar, and Belize.
We bring mission-aligned NGO partners together in networks to advocate for reform, and share with them our tools and established best practices to aid their support of fishing communities worldwide.
Supporting fishers to organise, plan, implement, and adapt local fisheries management strategies that rebuild fish stocks and sustain livelihoods.
Enabling communities to gain formal rights to access, use and manage local fisheries and ecosystems โ securing their most important assets.
Helping fisher households build financial literacy, establish savings groups or micro-businesses, and access appropriate financial services.
Ensuring fisheries management decisions account for local nutrition needs, prioritising nutrient-rich species and improving post-harvest practices.
Blue Ventures' 2030 strategy calls for scaling community-led conservation to thousands of partners and communities worldwide. A key enabler to achieving this is sharing knowledge and building capacity through accessible training, learning, and data.
Unlike a static library, the Hub functions as a guided platform: a space where BV staff, partners, and communities can navigate learning pathways, access tools and data, and connect training directly to their real-world applications.
By combining high-quality resources with a platform structured around learners' journeys, BV ensures that training is consistent, inclusive, and scalable.
